It’s recommended that we eat 6-10 fruits and vegetables a day. Here in the States it is reported the actual average of fruits and veggies eaten each day is just 2.

Yup, just 2.

Now, I don’t know where you stand on this, but overall, it really is a sad state of nutritional affairs.

But don’t worry It’s not that tough to get more fruits and veggies in each day.

Here are some super simple tips to get you started:

1) Buy ‘em pre-chopped

Look, I can be lazy, too There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to go through the hassle of having to chop up fruits and veggies. If you want to buy them pre-chopped go ahead. It’s much better for you than not eating them.

2) Carry ‘em with you

Load up a plastic baggie with your pre-chopped veggies and bring them to work. Seriously, see how easy this can be!

3) Add real fruit to your yogurt

Have some yogurt for breakfast and add some fresh blueberries, raspberries or blackberries. It’s that simple!

Bonus tip: A great way to provide your body with the nutritional foundation you need each day is a Whole Foods based multi-vitamin. I’m a proud Prograde Nutrition partner and they have a terrific product called VGF 25+ that is made from 25 veggies, greens and fruits.

The best part is you can try Prograde’s VGF 25+ for FREE! (There’s just a small S & H charge)
http://hometeamfitness.getprograde.com/vgf25-free-trial.html

I hope you have an awesome weekend. Be sure to use these tips and let me know how they help you out. Or send me some of your own!

Yours in health,

-Chad

PS – You can see all the natural ingredients they use to make VGF 25+ at http://hometeamfitness.getprograde.com/vgf25-free-trial.html

So it’s the day after Thanksgiving, and if you’re anything like me, you had just a liiitle too much to eat at one of your holiday edition meals. Love those yams, potates, corn pudding, and stuffing, but man does it do a number on your gut! I’ve heard people tell me that they’ve actually gained as much as 4 pounds literally overnight after Thanksgiving.

Well, here’s what you’re going to do. You are going to do this Post-Turkey Day workout “finisher” for some much needed additional calorie burning.

This will be a continuous work circuit, which is one of my favorite ways to train circuits. Get yourself a set of moderate weight dumbells, and a timer and set it for 10 minutes. The idea is to complete 10 reps of each exercise in the following circuit as many times as possible in the ten minute time limit. You should be able to get at least 4-5 rounds in, 8 if you really crank it. This is a great way to finish your regular workout, and give yourself a real metabolic booster shot to burn of some of the fat you gained yesterday.

Here’s the circuit:

dumbell sqaut to shoulder press

dumbell deadlift with row

standing dumbell rotation

Once again, complete 10 reps of each exercise in the circuit as many times as you can for 10 minutes, and work as hard as you can! This 10 minute metabolic “finisher” can take your regular workout into overdrive, and put you on the path to a leaner, more toned physique.

And they continue to lie!! Now the Kellogg company is claiming that their Rice Krispies cereal supports immunity due to added vitamins…WOW, the guts of this company!

Read THIS

Vitamins or not, Rice Krispies is NOT a supportive food item. It’s nothing more than starch and sugar with a sprinkle of synthetic vitamins and minerals. When is the Federal Government going to get out of the food industry’s pocket, and handle these lying thieves who are killilng our contry one bowl at a time?

Nutrition is critical to living your best life, get the good stuff. Fresh fruits and vegetables are natures immunity support, not man-made fake food.

Don’t fall for lies and propaganda, keep getting the truth from us and other credable sources who actually care about your wellbeing.

Rrrrrrrr I’m so annoyed right now…

2009 “Freaky Fat Loss” Boot Camp is over, and we had a lot of fun and got to help United Way of Washington County continue to serve our area’s needs. One of the best things about the event was our popular pumpkin dip. Kat modified a recipe found in a cookbook made at her Mother’s church, McConnellsburg United Methodist Church in McConnellsburg, PA.

We’ve had a few requests for the recipe for this great tasting, low calorie snack, so here it is:

1 small can pumpkin
1 large box sugar-free, fat free instant vanilla pudding
2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup fat-free milk
1-12 oz. container lite whipped topping

Mix pumpkin, pudding, cinnamon, and milk together in a large bowl. Fold whipped topping into mixture. Refridgerate for at least 2 hours and enjoy. Yoiu can dip with ginger snaps, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers.

Enjoy!

BTW, don’t forget to get your week free pass into Hagerstown’s BEST boot camp by e-mailing us at info@hometeamfitness.net. See you there!

I can barely contain myself. We are officially one day away from 2009 “Freaky Fat Loss” Boot Camp, and I am like a kid on Christmas Eve…We are about to take part in the biggest fitness extravaganza this city has ever seen! And what better organization to do it for than United Way of Washington County. I’ve personally benefitted from the United Way’s work, and truly believe that this organization is essential to not only Washington County, but to the entire nation.

From summers in the Boys and Girls Clubs camps, to the time I spent in the YMCA’s programs and activities I was kept away from the kind of trouble that some of the boys in my own family got into. When crack hit Hagerstown, in the late ’80s, a lot of the guys from my neighborhood were vanishing on a weekly basis. Some were arrested, some were killed, all in the name of fast money and reputation. I was kept out of that mess due to the combination of 2 things: a mother who kapt me busy, and locations to stay busy at.

United Way helps keep places open that keep kids out of the various avenues of trouble that are increasingly available today. If it weren’t for the Boys and Girls Clubs, and the YMCA, both of which are United Way Agencies, I don’t know if i would be sitting here talking to you right now. S i guess I owe them my life, and my career. “Freaky Fat Loss” Boot Camp is my small way of giving back what United Way invested in me for over a decade.

Kat and i hope to see you in the morning, but if you can’t come (slacker), please consider donating to United Way of Washington County, to make sure that they can continue to do the good work they do for so many people here where we live.
